Combining Functionality and Sustainability in Design

Located in the beautiful Dapeng Peninsula, the Baguang sports center is nestled in a well-protected natural land, surrounded by silver leaf forests, egrets, and wetlands. This setting provides the perfect backdrop for a design that seamlessly blends with its surroundings and prioritizes the integrity of the project.

The design of the sports center draws inspiration from the seaside, emphasizing the flexibility of seawater and the connection to the natural environment. The architects have carefully considered the use of environmentally friendly materials and technologies to achieve a green and sustainable development design.

The swimming pool floor is made of anti-slip and epoxy grindstone, ensuring safety for users. The walls are constructed using permanent condensate DPS, providing durability and low maintenance. In the basketball hall, a sports wood floor with regulated elasticity and friction coefficient enhances the playing experience. Wood and wood wool sound-absorbing panels on the walls contribute to acoustic comfort, while the ceiling incorporates metal and membrane materials. The partially transparent roof is made of glass polyester transparent plates, allowing natural light to flood the space.

With a total land area of 36,041 square meters and a building area of 70,657 square meters, the Baguang sports center offers a comprehensive venue for various activities. It houses a swimming pool, badminton hall, training hall, grand theater, cultural center, and library, making it a hub for culture, sports, and community engagement.

The design team, led by Peng Xiaohua and Chen Fan, prioritized functionality while incorporating the spirit of the times and cultural elements into the space. The result is a modern and intelligent design that not only meets the needs of users but also contributes to energy efficiency and environmental protection.

The Baguang sports center project began in November 2019 and was completed in 2020, showcasing the team's dedication and commitment to delivering a high-quality design within a relatively short timeframe.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving the quality of life.
